Biography

Xent (born Daniele Paterno) is an Italian singer, songwriter and radio announcer. His home town is Gangi, Sicily and he currently lives in Palermo. Passionate about dance music, synth pop, soul and funk, he studied solfeggio and keyboard when he as a child. Later he began singing and started to take private lessons. As a teenager he took part in many gigs in his home town. He was part of a vocal ensemble for three years, then left it and started to write his own songs. Because of his passion for dance music, he connected with producers and released many singles. His first singles "You Again" (with Kaldee) and "Back to Me" (with Deepop) were included in the famous Italian dance compilation Hit Mania in 2017, both of them under the Sound Management Corporation. He released other dance tracks under the same label, most of them included in the compilations of Hit Mania: "You gave me something" with Elaic, "Come into my Sicily" with McGroove and "I'll meet you one day" with Dany Tee, a close friend of his. He wrote some songs for the water park "La quiete": "Pirati all conquista" with MC Groove. Xent also released some covers of 80s songs, such as "Fade to Grey" by Visage, with Kardon, and "West End Girls" by the Pet Shop Boys with Aries, another friend. The latest single "My Scars" with the Rizzo brothers (Peppe and Daniele) is out on December 2nd (the day before Xent's birthday) and is included in Hit Mania Dance 2023.
