Born James Flynn McEchron, Donovans musical interest developed in middle school, somewhere between ODB and Beck. The idea someone could create feelings with sound was revolutionary. He found an old, nylon strung Gibson in his parents garage and soon there was nothing else he wanted to do. At 25 Donovan was recording and touring with BAD CROWD, a hip hop trio featuring a beat boxer. It was then Donovan found his home in the PDX music scene with other locals like DJ Zone, Max Graves, DMLH, and Scotty Del. In 2016 Donovan joined Sloth City, a collective of Portland artists with a recording studio as their hub. Donovan released his first project with them that same year, titled SICK PEOPLE. 2017 was spent with a veritable super group called 7th Deadly, featuring Errybodyknows, Diction Uno, uknowhoo, and DJ Zone. A lot of drugs were done, perhaps all of the drugs.
