King Cooper (AKA King Kooper/Jan Kooper) is a lifelong dedicated saxophist and reed instrument specialist based in Amsterdam. Working mostly with soul, jazz, funk & reggae he has had a long & fascinating career, playing & touring with the likes of dutch pop-reggae legends Doe Maar, Sister Sledge, Coopertest, SoulLive & Rootz Lions among many others. Proving himself in a number of different genres as one the worlds top saxophonists. Here, as King 'Cooper' (Jan) digs deep into the current roots reggae, ska & dub scene. Wood, Wind & Roots is an organic concept in sound with an onus on capturing a vibe in the studio. KC adds his own unique style to a variety of rhythms recorded by backing bands such as The RAW Rhythm Section, The Signal One Band, The High Notes, Rootz Lions, Jah Works & The Awaiters.
