Born and raised in Dakar (Senegal), Amsterdam-based, with a family background in Senegal, Cape Verde & Ivory Coast, Orí conveys sensuality, wordplay and is connected to her breath. 
 Influenced by artists such as Joey Bada$$, Super Mama Djombo, Sade, Mayra Andrade, Lura, Kid Cudi & Tabanka Djazz.
 Filled with a love for old-school African music, Afro Fusion & R&B, and a deep understanding of her femininity, Orí keeps it versatile. 
 Her interest in music started with her fathers love for music, Cuban Salsa & Hip Hop, and her mother’s collection of Cape Verdean Coladeira, Funana & Gumbé. 
 Writing poetry for most of her life, her search for true expression and the thin line between honesty and vulnerability, keeps her writing. 
 Her latest track “Coconut” channels the ability to flex through hardships, as inspired by Zambian Rock.
