Aleksa Safiya, Jacksonville's R&B singer, quickly turned to music right after high school graduation in 2017. While being inspired by Rihanna, Chris Brown and Summer Walker, she developed her craft shortly after in 2018 dropping her first song on YouTube. Her lyrics are often more emotional detailing her personal life than standard R&B, and she delivers them with a soulful melody on multi-million streaming song, "Face 2 Face". Aleksa Safiya (sometimes known as Pretty Little Savage) was born Aleksandra Safiya Chhem in 1999 where she grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. After posting various freestyles online, she released the "Trip Freestyle,” a remix to Ella Mai's "Trip" which peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. By this point, Aleksa had generated enough buzz to continue her music career and catch fire a year later. Independently, she released her most popular song in 2019, "Face 2 Face,” following up early the next year with, “Help” (March 2020). Just a year later, Aleksa issued singles, which featured collaborations with Yung Bleu and No Cap. The singles are still on the rise years later and are expected to continuously climb.
