This season, Emmy-winning, Billboard-charting Metropolitan Opera tenor Eric Ferring releases his solo debut album, No Choice but Love, with his dear friend and collaborative pianist Madeline Slettedahl with Lexicon Classics. He makes a return to Opéra de Rouen Normandie as Lysander in A Midsummer Nights Dream, as well as debuts as Tamino at Opéra national du Rhin, and Lurcanio in Ariodante at Opéra national de Paris (Palais Garnier). In concert, Mr. Ferring sings with Opera Edwardsville, and in recital, Mr. Ferring is the Jordan Concert Artist at Drake University. Mr. Ferring records his second album, a chamber music album with Madeline Slettedahl and French string quartet, Quatuor Agate, in June entitled We have tomorrow with Delos. A native of Dubuque, Iowa, Mr. Ferring is an alum of Drake University and The Boston Conservatory. He is a graduate of the Pittsburgh Opera Resident Artist Program and the Ryan Opera Center at Lyric Opera of Chicago. Ferring’s numerous awards include top prizes at many competitions including the George London Foundation for Singers, Glyndebourne Opera Cup, Gerda Lissner Foundation International Voice Competition, American Opera Society of Chicago, the National Society of Arts and Letters, the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, as well as grants and awards from the Richard Tucker Foundation, Sullivan Foundation, Santa Fe Opera, and Opera Theatre of Saint Louis. Mr. Ferring is managed by Fletcher Artist Management.
