Biography

In 1999, just before the great Y2K apocalypse, the seed of Wabi Sabi was planted. Damian Cartier (And His My Newt Orchestra) consisted of a piano, a trombone, and drums. This, of course, was the perfect formula for pop success, and immediately attracted other musicians hungry for the fame and the fortune that such a money making powerhouse would bestow. Soon, the band grew to be as large as 11 pieces adding horns, bass, guitars, percussion, and singers. No matter how large the band became, nobody was able to spell the band name correctly. Damon Carter and The New Orchestra. Damien Carter and His Minute Orchestra (they would pronounce it "minut" as if every song lasted 60 seconds). In fact, the only place that ever spelled the name correctly was a bodacious biker bar in Panama City. It was then that Damian saw an episode* of "King Of The Hill" where Bobby discovered the concept of "Wabi Sabi" which was a type of imperfect beauty. Perfectly imperfect for a band that played the same song differently every performance and sometimes followed the song where it wanted to go on that particular night. So, Wabi Sabi came to be. And it was great. *"The Son Also Roses" Season 7, Ep. 6
