Biography

If you’re born with a calling, it will stay with you for life. Music was always the plan for Fidel after spending his childhood immersed in the melodic hubbub of his dad’s recording studio in South London, absorbing and dissecting harmonies before he could walk. But as with so many of us, life had other plans and after graduating from University, he found himself in a City job, putting his dreams of becoming a singer on hold.    Until now, that is. Last year, Fidel left the stability of the City to pursue music full time, and although many doubted him (after all, why would you take such a risk?), it becomes abundantly clear that he made the right decision as soon as you hear his upcoming releases.    His addictive first single, Weekend Starts, channels an eclectic mix of pop, dance and R&B for the ultimate summer sound to serenade us out of lockdown. With some primetime TV shows already lining up to use the track, things are moving quickly in the right direction. The other three tracks on the EP tread the lines of Disclosure and The Disciples with the vocal resonance of The Weeknd, proving that leaving your 9-to-5 has never sounded so good.    Working with producer Big Zeeko (Young Bane, Dutchevelli, Bad Boys For Life soundtrack) and having been frontman of a band comprised of three producers whose credits included Jack Garrett, Fickle Friends and Scouting for Girls, Fidel’s distinct sound, and his unique ability to make commercial cool, is more than a breath of fresh air.
