It all started with "Jesus Christ Superstar" for Dane Donohue… After 2 years of touring all over the United States and Europe playing Jesus in the rock musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" in the early 70's, Dane started to make demo recordings and sent them out to all parties who may show their interest. Thus, he got a management contract with Leber-Krebs in New York City and an album deal with Columbia Records, USA. Dane took 3 years to complete his solo eponymous album and it was released on August 22, 1978. Sony Music (Japan) re-issued the album and several songs in compilations on CD in 1992 to great acclaim. Subsequently the album and singles were released internationally by Sony Music Entertainment on the Legacy Recordings label with a new generation of fans discovering Dane's music in the popular Yacht Rock genre. The album was Produced by Terence Boylan and featured many renowned vocalists and musicians of the famed West Coast Sound. Dane is backed up on the album by Don Henley, Stevie Nicks, Timothy B. Schmit, John David Souther, Jay Graydon, Larry Carlton, Steve Lukather, Jai Winding and Bill Champlin.
