Float

Biography

Forming in 1996 in San Francisco, Channel 23 decided from the very start to explore original and wild experimentation areas composed of funk allusions, trip-hop, and other electronic genre features. Embodying the crew was a four-piece set, secured by Eenor (vocals, guitar), Kimo (bass), Brendan (woodwinds), and Fil (drums). Following two years of reckless performances all across San Francisco's underground club scene, the quartet entered the studio to record its debut album. Float hit record stores in 1998, enjoying surprising results and legitimizing the group's creative mission. Channel 23 ultimately gathered a considerable fan base, not only due to their eccentric compound themes, but also because of their imperial live performances; combining futuristic visual scopes and other exotic scenarios, therefore enhancing the group's artistic mastery. ~ Mario Mesquita Borges, Rovi
