Composed by Charles Niessen, the main theme from his Kein Mann Zum Hieraten movie soundtrack did well as a single in central Europe before the duo re-made it as ‘Banjo Boy’ with English lyrics by New Yorker Buddy Kaye. As such, it spread itself thinly enough to sell a purported million by 1962 without rising above number 36 in the UK and number 58 in the US charts.
