My latest track "Not Get Nothing" drops July 5th. The eldest sibling in the talented family, along with Elijah Jones, Kaya Symoné, and Ethan Francis, I create a lot about spirituality; it’s subtle, but I like to take the mundane and ordinary, and relate them together to illuminate the universal truths underlying all things. Most of my music is focused on me, in self-reflection. My shortcomings, my struggles, my challenges. What may at first sound like glorification, upon closer inspection my lyrics can show listeners stories of frustration towards the world and towards myself. I’ve always been impatient with my growth, and with the rate the world grows. I want to change everything for the better, and music is where I vent into the ether at just how demoralizing that wish can prove to be. I say things that are immature yet imaginative. I credit many influences for that skill, but what I say has less shock value and more humor to it. I like to be silly and I don’t take myself seriously at all. I take my dreams seriously, but music is meant to be fun. Rap doesn’t always have to be so serious. Some of my favorite acts make creating and performing music look fun, like play, like how it was at recess or lunchtime when you were huddled around your friends saying dumb bars for laughs. But I try to make you laugh at the absurdity of life. The absurdity of letting life fool you into taking it too seriously.
