YMF was born Rabbani Basnoe in Amsterdam, Netherlands in 2000. He grew up in the southeast of Amsterdam in one of the highest crime rated neighborhoods. He was known as a quiet child who was just living his life. As a kid he was a big fan of Michael Jackson and at the age of 9 he discovered hip-hop music. Already writing his own lyrics, YMF recorded his first song when he was 11 years old. Two years later he also started to make his own beats. He always looked at the work of producers and engineers, that’s how he managed to mix and master his own songs. When YMF isn’t working in the studio, you can find him on stage. He performed at many national and international events. Even though he loves to do shows, the studio really is his second home. In 2020 he released songs every month and dropped his EP Pre-Motions. His fanbase started to grow and he did collaborations with: Lil Trevo, Lord D'Andre, Major Dreamin', Double-B and many more. Even during a pandemic YMF was still releasing songs like: Thief In the Night & Island. He also worked as a producer on the song FAYA!. On September 24 he released his single Check. It’s a catchy song and stay tuned to hear a lot from YMF.
