I’m Naiem (@naiemreza), a South Asian producer and composer based in Washington, D.C. My work aims to weave the magical realism of sound from South Asian and Western diasporas. I’m recognized for my work in blending musical artistry with the depth of emotional experience, crafting a distinctive and resonant conceptual sonic journey. Jaywalking on The Moon In the twilight of our days, we see Star People, Moving with grace, living in good faith, Made of stardust, yet hearts are fragile and in gloom. We sip the liquid moon, and a hint of cardamom in bloom, This spilled chai is a portal, to our cryptic thoughts and mystic trips, Where we struggle to fall asleep, in the night’s hidden mist, Lucid screams emerge where nightmares and reality coexist, In this doorway to the land of sinners, the Multiverse of Sadness persists. As I embark to the Otherlands, stark and vast, I confront the rain of sadness, the shadows of the mass, The cycle of destruction, an endless fight, both in future and past, In this tapestry of dreams, I’ll weave my way, steadfast. Beyond this multiverse of sadness, come what may, To find the stars within and set them free to escape dismay, The demons will dance, in these worlds you see, In the vast, timeless cosmos, our destinies decree.
