Biography

Bart Van Reyn, one of Belgium’s leading conductors of the new generation, enjoys a wide repertoire ranging from baroque to contemporary music. Bart has worked with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, the Brussels Philharmonic, the Slovenian Philharmonic, B’Rock, Il Gardellino baroque orchestra, Cappella Augustina Köln, Brandenburger Symphoniker, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and the Danish National Symphony Orchestra. His first orchestral CD (with his period instrument orchestra Le Concert d’Anvers) was selected by BBC Music Magazine in the category of Best orchestral recordings 2020. His first oratorio recording (C.P.E. Bach’s Die Auferstehung und Himmelfahrt Jesu) was awarded a Diapason d’Or. He has been Chief Conductor of the Danish Radio Choir 2016-2022, and in 2019 he was also appointed Musical Director of the Flemish Radio Choir. As from the 21/22 season he is permanent guest conductor with Anima Eterna Bruges on period instruments. He is also a regular guest conductor with many top-ranking vocal ensembles, such as the Netherlands Chamber Choir, Cappella Amsterdam, the Netherlands Radio Choir, the MDR Rundfunkchor Leipzig, the SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart, the NDR Chor Hamburg, the Rundfunkchor Berlin, DR Vokalensemblet, Collegium Vocale Gent and the BBC Singers. He has worked with composers Steve Reich, Tan Dun, James MacMillan and Kaija Saariaho. www.bartvanreyn.com
