Frank Woeste is a pianist, composer, arranger, and music producer. Born in Hanover in 1976 into a music-loving family, growing up, Frank was exposed to both classical and jazz music. This dual upbringing, in both classical and jazz traditions, shaped his musical identity. In 1997, he moved to France to complete his studies at the jazz section of the Paris Conservatory, where he remained. In addition to his skills as a pianist, Frank gained recognition as an arranger and for his work with the Fender Rhodes, using analog effects to create unique sounds. His talents led him to collaborate with renowned jazz musicians both in France and internationally, including Ibrahim Maalouf, Youn Sun Nah, Dave Douglas, and many others. Frank has also shared the stage with pop and chanson artists such as Oxmo Puccino, Juliette Greco, and Mathieu Chedid, as well as classical musicians like the Orchestre National de Bretagne. He has recorded 14 albums as a leader and numerous albums as a sideman and arranger, many of which have received awards. Frank Woeste has won several international competitions and awards, including the Steinway Prize at the Montreux Piano Competition and nominations for the Victoires du Jazz. In addition to his musical pursuits, Frank organizes a series of masterclasses in his recording studio, Studio Libretto, where he invites prominent jazz musicians for discussions. He is also a producer for his label, Phonoart.
