Countertenor Benjamin Lyko studied singing at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin with Renate Faltin and Magdaléna Hajóssyová, and gained important artistic insights into historically informed performance practice and baroque gestures in master classes with Andreas Scholl, Axel Köhler, Wolfgang Katschner and Sigrid T’Hooft. He has been invited to perform at the Konzerthaus Berlin, Schlosstheater Potsdam, Theater Freiburg, Wuppertaler Bühnen, Theater Münster, Nationaltheater Mannheim and Theater an der Wien, as well as at festivals including TONarten, Vielklang Tübingen, Innsbrucker Festwochen and Winter in Schwetzingen. In addition to his solo engagements, Benjamin Lyko devotes himself to sacred music of the renaissance and early baroque periods, performing alongside various ensembles, whilst also maintaining a special connection to contemporary art forms: experimental music theatre productions and world premieres frequently inspire him and testify to the wide range of his musicality.
