In 2014, Ryan Welch aka Clef God (formerly CLEF), a producer, rapper, singer, songwriter, and engineer emerged in the Central Texas area underground producing independent albums for himself and his circle of artists. In 2018 Welch met The Co-Stars in Los Angeles and came together to launch a few of the artists he was developing, and by 2019 they landed a placement on Power season 6 with a record Clef produced, wrote, engineered, and featured on alongside one of his artists called “I Need That”. By 2020 Clef God had started producing records and directing videos for Hollywood A-listers including Snow Tha Product and AJ Hernz for whom he produced and engineered the records “Talk Back” and “Diamond Dance” and shot/directed the videos for both. In 2022 the one stop shop producer/artist released his debut self produced/engineered album ‘The Fire’ which debuted at #8 on the iTunes Charts and landed a placement from the album on HBO’s The Hype season 2 entitled “The Door” thanks to The Co-Stars, alongside 2 other records on the show that he produced wrote and engineered (“Harder” and “We Did It”). The same month he landed a placement on Tyler Perry’s ‘All The Queens Men’ on BET with the record he produced, wrote, and engineered called “Gold Skin”. Now in 2023, Clef God just dropped his EP ‘Blockbuster’ which debuted at #6 on the iTunes Charts and also got a placement from the self-produced and engineered EP on Bel-Air season 2 entitled “All The Bad Bitches Live In LA”.
