Just 18-years-old, the budding Hip Hop sensation is not only breaking barriers as he rises but also possesses the experience and energy that surpasses many established artists in the game.At first sight, RJ appears calm and collected, but his music and on stage performances says the opposite. He is catchy with his rhymes and will leave you jaw-dropping with his punch lines.The Sandton-based recollected what influenced and shaped his career in Hip Hop. “My mother was a very musical person, so every Sunday she would turn on Gospel music which sort of gave me a musical ideology,” he said.However, this was not all to mold a career of a rapper. “My sister and I used to take empty roll on bottles and use them as microphone to perform. One day she was singing along that Lil Wayne track featuring a female artist and while she sang the chorus by the female artist I just jumped on and took over the Lil Wayne verses,” he reminisced.While this was just the beginning. RJ, who originally hails from North-West,said his older brother spotted talent from him and took him to a studio where they tried out to make some music.“I actually wrote my own lyrics, After my brother had me rapping, he decided to take me to studio where we started making music,” he explained.He has released five tracks and has about 10 others standing idle.His achievements are opening up the stage for RnB sensation Tshego, A Reece.RJ has released the following songs: Real Life, Gotta eat ft Kxdzaii and Grind.
