Raised in a time of synthesised soundscapes and born in sun-kissed savanna region Zambia, Mak Jamie is a captivating artist from Lusaka. Surrounded by CDs, Cassettes and his pen, Jamie's upbringing, in the noughties, was musical and had him drawing closer to writing songs, even with nothing but his mind, emotion, a pen and a journal in his school days. Mak Jamie's sound is retro-ish alternative and pov:indie influenced by the late 20th Century and it's aesthetic as well as the synths and syncopation of the music of that era. His story with music is largely intertwined with his faith in God, a constant inspiration for his music.
