Classical kemençe player Sercan Halili was born in Istanbul and completed his 3-string kemençe, 4-string kemençe and alto kemençe training both in the high school and university units of Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music State Conservatory. He also post-graduated from Haliç University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Turkish Music. He participated in concert series with various music groups and symphonic orchestras also attended to music festivals in Turkey and abroad. He made a record with Burhan Öcal in Switzerland, called as "Sufi Bach Orient meets Occident", with Edward Powell in Canada called as "Ragmakam", with Natalia Mann in New Zealand called as “Pasif-İst”, and a duo album with pianist Erman Türkeli called as"Istanbul Duo" The artist, who made his first solo album "Hotel Istanbul" in 2010, also gave concerts with this project. Halili, who has performed "Kemençe Concerto", composed by Oğuzhan Balcı as a soloist with various orchestras since 2008, has also made the first recording of this composition in the world. In 2015, he began his career as a classical kemençe artist at “”TRT” which is the public broadcasting of Turkey. He still continues his duty at TRT. Additionally, he takes part both as a classiacal kemençe player and music director in many album and soap opera sound tracks. He still continues his studio, concert, stage performances together with the academical studies with various music styles.
