Biography
Formed in 2018, Violet Orange is an 8-piece indie-pop outfit from Perth. Their sassy girl-band vibes, powerhouse lyricism and strong groove come together on their debut EP ‘Fool Me Twice,’ as well as their latest single ‘Girls!’ Dani Foote (lead vocals) and Michaela Francis (guitar and vocals) drive the group from the front, while Jordan Abel (drums), Owen Wai (bass) and Ned Holland (keys) hold it down from the back. Completing the sound is their three piece horn section, made up of Matt Knight (trumpet), Will Pethick (trombone) and Lachlin Brooks (Tenor Sax). Violet Orange have been growing quickly in the Perth music scene, sharing the WAMFest 2019 lineup with the likes of Homebrand and Dulcie, and recording as part of WAM’s ‘Demos from Peel’ project. 2020 sees the band gigging extensively, while writing new material for a sophomore EP, eager to keep making music for people who love to groove the night away.
