Biography

Mario Verlangieri is a composer, guitarist, and music producer based in Los Angeles, California. He has worked on network television shows, independent films & documentaries, video games, commercials, and podcasts, as well as with local award-winning and internationally renowned artists. Recent projects include additional writing for Richard Breakspear on the series C*A*U*G*H*T, staring Sean Penn and Matthew Fox, and for Randall Crissman on the Nickelodeon series Blaze and the Monster Machines, and the Cartoon Network/ Adult Swim series Robot Chicken. He scored the short films Donut Boy and Playground this year, and was a featured musician (guitar) and score mixer on the feature documentary Beyond Ed Buck (Amazon Prime), where he collaborated with the film's composer Chris McElroy. His past work has been featured at the Cannes International Film Festival, the Pan African Film and Arts Festival, and the Hawaii International Film Festival. In addition to his scoring work, Mario is active in the Southern California ska music scene - as guitarist/ singer in The Short Necked Giraffes, and keyboardist in The Ghetto on Phyre. His doppelgänger has been seen on stage playing guitar for the Greenlandic punk band The Maxies. Mario is a graduate of CSU San Bernardino and the USC Screen Scoring program. When not composing or performing live, Mario can be found hiking in the Angeles National Forest,  kayaking around the Channel Islands, or enjoying a craft beer.
