Victor Akajiofor-Jones professionally known as Jlyricz, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter, recording artist and poet. Born in Benin City, he spent his formative years traveling and living in different cities across different regions of the country. He was introduced early to music by his father who had a sizeable diverse collection of music; Oliver De Coque, Bob Marley, Fela, Ebenezer Obey etc. Being exposed to those records triggered his love for music and also made him appreciate the diversity in music which would later influence how he saw and created his own music. At the age of 7, young Jlyricz was writing short stories and in a few a couple of years was writing songs which he did by switching the lyrics of his favorite songs while keeping the melodies. By 16, he was writing original music for himself and his musical group, the teenage quartet; Ultra4 which he co-founded with his friends when he was 17. However it wasn't until 2015 that his professional musical journey started with the release of his first single "Idi Nma" and since then the prolific songwriter has churned out an amazing collection of releases; singles, EPs, Compilations. He is currently working on multiple projects; two EPs and his debut album. Jlyricz believes music can be used as a force for good and describes his music as Pop/Afro-fusion. He is inspired by the Holy Spirit, his personal experiences and those of others around as well as his environment.
