LuKaS - Lund’s Chamber Soloists, has since its inception in 2016 become a well known meeting-point for several of Skåne’s foremost string musicians. The independent ensemble was created and is maintained in large part by the musicians themselves. With its catchwords openness, curiosity and quality, LuKaS has performed in a variety of chamber music constellations, both in its own concert productions and as a part of several other concert series and festivals in southern Sweden and Denmark. Their concert recordings with, among others, violinist Johan Dalene have also received international attention and made LuKaS into a highly relevant ensemble for a larger public as well. The 2019 concert installation Night Light is the chamber soloists’ most ambitious project to date, where Lund’s Cathedral was filled with music and light design in connection with composer Benjamin Staern’s newly written Meditation for organ and strings. The concert received wide acclaim in its hometown and a further elaboration of the concept is planned for the future. Sofie Asplund has been a favourite returning guest artist at Lund’s Chamber Soloists’ concerts, ever since the first concert together at the Museum of Sketches in Lund in 2017. Their concert in Dråby Church in Denmark in the summer of 2018 was broadcast live on Danish Radio P2.
