Sheet music: julianfueyo.com/shop • The mythological symbolism and evocative radiance in Mexican composer Julián Fueyo's music fuse delicate lyricism with deep harmonic hues. His music dives into the real, the marvelous, and the mythological investigating ancient aesthetics and their place in our rapidly-changing contemporary culture. He began brewing melodies and harmonies as a child in Tampico, Mexico where he grew-up surrounded by the tales, legends, and myths from the Huasteca. — Julianfueyo.com His recent Severance Hall debut (Cleveland, OH) prompted Lisa deBenedictis to describe his music as blazing "into a cosmic tempest until it has no more room to grow [...] finally consumed in an explosion of silence — a noiselessness which did not last long due to the roar of the enthusiastic crowd which leapt to its feet for ovation after ovation” (Coolcleveland). Fueyo is the recipient of the 2021 ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Awards, 68th BMI Student Composer Awards (2020), 2020 ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Awards, 1st prize at The Robert Avalon International Competition for Composers. Fueyo graduated from the Yale School of Music, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and Interlochen Arts Academy. Fundamentally, Fueyo believes music and humans must communicate through emotion and intuition in order to connect with greater truths: that is, to connect with each other and, consequently, with ourselves. inst: @julianfueyo Playlists: Julián Fueyo
