James Murillo is musically known as Gator Jay; born on October 1989 in Dominican Republic but was raised in Fort Myers, Florida. His boldness and obvious reason why he named his self ‘Gator Jay’. Gator parents migrated into the U.S when he was 6 months. “Its a success by itself coming up the way I did.” Gator quotes. As a teenager Gator Jay inspired by the hiphop culture started creating instrumentals on his pc computer with his home boys. One of his friends convinced him to jump on his own beat, the feed back was not to his expectations. But the love for music kept him motivated. Gaining his respect through out high school he kept working hard and mastering his craft. In 2011 Gator released his first Mixtape ‘Gator Tales’ shaping up his flow he went to drop his 2nd project ‘Beware of Gator’ in 2016. Not giving up his passion and overcoming life’s obstacles he attacked the streets again in 2018 with his ‘Misconception’ Mixtape. Getting more personal with this project and going harder in the streets he gained the opportunity to open a show up for YFN Lucci and Blue Face. Gator Jay music describes his triumphs and falls coming up in the streets of Fort Myers Florida, how to make a positive out of a negative; being that he comes from such a negative environment. Gator basically is turning shit into sugar. Inspired by the hustle and ambition he plans on making his next several years his best giving his established and future fans great vibes.
