RoG, a.k.a. Reections of God, is by far one of the best rappers issued from the Haitian community in North America. Born and raised in the eastern boroughs of Montreal, he’s been exposed to various styles and various languages since childhood. His passion for music started around the age of 7, when he rst heard Busta Rhymes. By 10 years old, he found his voice and became a rapper himself subsequently releasing two albums, namely “Pop O” (2002) and “Who’s hot” (2005). It wasn’t until 2010 that he made the decision to pursue his passion on a pro- fessional basis, and released his third album, named “Success”, that same year. RoG’s versatility stems from his exposure to dierent styles of music, West Coast and East Coast rap, and Caribbean music in general, as his upbringing was in a Haitian home. RoG’s exposure to the street life also helped shape his identity, as a rapper, and made him relat- able to his fan base. Yet, RoG doesn’t just tell a story about gangs, his tumultuous love life and family life has also largely inuenced the stories he’s told in his music. He’s been bless- ing the scene with his music, whether through English or Creole rap, and he is far from nished.
