Biography

Ruth Wall was brought up in Sutherland in the north of Scotland, immersed in the history and music of the Highlands. She specialises in playing new and ancient music on her early and modern harps (Gaelic wire strung harp, buzzing Renaissance bray harp, Scottish lever harp , concert harp and electro harp with looper). She has performed on stages around the world – Sydney Opera House, Berlin Philharmonic, Gucci birthday celebrations in Rome and Florence, Radio City New York, and the London Olympic Celebrations. Ruth has toured extensively with composer Graham Fitkin in their duo Fitkinwall, Goldfrapp, Will Gregory Moog Ensemble, Kathryn Tickell, Ockham's Razor and has featured as a soloist with the London Chamber Orchestra, Sacconi Quartet and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. She appears regularly on BBC Radio and TV (Late Junction Sessions, Jools Holland, BBC Radio) and is a featured soloist in the films including Loving Vincent, Sightseers, Scrooge, Wonka and The White Queen.  Ruth has recorded for EMI, Mercury Music, Sony BMG, GFR, Naxos and Universal. She performs on albums with artists Nolwenn Leroy, Simon Haram, Charlie Jones, for KING & COUNTRY, Noel Langley. Her latest album UIST with Fitkinwall is released in November 2024 on Naxos
