Biography

Nolen Abel's resonant music fuses a rich ambiance with the smooth soul of R&B and the high-energy feel of Trap. With sonorous vocals and a knack for progressive, thoughtful lyricism, the enigmatic artist uses music to give brush strokes to a painting that is his life. The release of his 2020 project, The Tokyo EP, only scratched the surface of what Abel could deliver. Yet, it delved deep into the heart of a teen stuck in love, tragedy, and a never-ending struggle with separation. He would then follow up with a string of singles over the year. Mr. Nice Guy would play on Nolen's feeling of alienation in the party scene and the growing discord between his new moral values and the person he grew accustomed to being. Meanwhile, Perspective is a note to the future of Abel. The eventual day where he'll leave the people he's met and loved to start anew. Over the next two years, Abel would slow down and release only two singles, Suicide Doors and Relapse. Both songs would build on the chill-trap feel of Mr. Nice Guy while creating a mixture of epic and melodic. Suicide Doors portrays Abel as an aristocratic loner who looks at the party scene and wonders if there is a meaning deeper than what is on the surface. Ten months later, he would release the heart-breaking anthem Relapse. Stemming from a broken relationship made by immature games, Relapse finds Abel wishing for his lover upon realizing the fame and money he put before her wasn't worth his happiness.
