Fiddler and composer - finding new ways to create modern folk music! Bjørn Kåre Odde (b. 1990) is a Norwegian folk musician known for his broad versatility and collaboration across different genres. He has performed with, and composed for, several well-known choirs and orchestras in Europe. Amongst them the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK) and Schola Cantorum in Oslo. It is nonetheless the folk music traditions in Norway that lie closest to his heart. He has a deep love for - and an in-depth understanding of - the language of folk music, and he therefore feels free to be both bold and innovative in his folk music. Bjørn Kåre Odde has in recent years done several commissioned works. He is known for his romantic long-lined melodies combined with the harmony ideas from baroque music, and his subtle and emotional way of playing. These are some of the qualities that made him Folk Musician of the Year in 2019. www.melovitten.no
