Biography

GRAMMY Award winners Blue Lab Beats are one of the fastest-rising production duos in the world right now, expertly and fluidly fusing jazztronica, hip-hop, Afrobeat, soul and electronica, whilst representing a hungry and endlessly talented generation inspired by the forebears of jazz and the pioneers of hip-hop’s golden age, where musicality was a primary principle. Blue Lab Beats consists of the formidable multi-instrumentalist Mr DM and groundbreaking producer NK-OK. Starting out as bedroom producers, remixing tracks from A-listers such as Dua Lipa and Rag’N’Bone Man, and now producing on Kojey Radical’s Number 1 Hip Hop & RNB Album “ Reason To Smile “ Amassing over 5 million + streams, each of their three Album projects also had accompanying E.P's packed with both instrumental and vocal songs. Collaborations on their records include Kojey Radical, Tiana Major 9, Sampa The Great, Emmavie, Kofi Stone, Kiefer, Jaz Karis, Angelique Kidjo, Pip Millett, Flo Filz, Ego Ella May & Fela Kuti approved sample. Live shows always feature sax, trumpet and vocals, highlights include 2 sets at Glastonbury Festival in 2023, a sold out show at the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room (where they performed with 12 string players, a full band and guest vocalists) Blue Note in Tokyo, 3 shows at Jazzaladia Festival in Spain, supporting Robert Glasper at Jazz A Vienne, then Montreux Jazz Festival and Montreal Jazz Festival - back to back in three days!
