South Bronx native, the late Fred The Godson first appeared on the national radar after being named a 2011 XXL Freshman alongside fellow classmates Kendrick Lamar, Meek Mill and Mac Miller. Since his freshman class, Fred has gone on to record with a who’s who of hip-hop. Some of the artists appearing on his projects or having him appear on their projects include: Kevin Gates, Diddy, Meek Mill, Jadakiss, The Game, Fat Joe, Raekwon, Pusha-T, French Montana, Erick Sermon, Keith Murray and many more. He has even been tapped to appear on the “25/8 (Remix)” from the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, Mary J. Blige. YouTube videos in which Fred The Godson appears or performs as a featured artist have been viewed over a combined fifty million times. On datpiff alone, Fred The Godson’s mixtapes have been downloaded over a million times and streamed over twelve and a half million times to date. A staple on the New York hip-hop scene, Fred The Godson frequently appears on radio shows on Hot 97 with Funkmaster Flex as well as DJ Enuff, The Breakfast Club on Power 105, and Sway In The Morning on Sirius Radio. Fred The Godson’s latest effort, the mixtape “Gordo” featured New York mainstays Dave East, Jim Jones, Joelle Ortiz, Vado and Jaquae. The project has been streamed over three million times and downloaded over thirty thousand times. His recent freestyle video with Hot 97’s Funkmaster Flex has a combined 12 million views with over two hundred thousand shares on social media.
