You may have just heard us in Hulu's 'Only Murders In The Building' (Season 4, Episode 1) with the song "Times Square 1989," but we've been here for YEARS... Hip Hop Hoodíos are a Latino-Jewish alternative hip-hop band founded by Josh Norek and Abraham Velez. The group has collaborated with members of Grammy winning acts including Jaguares, Caifanes, Ozomatli and The Klezmatics. The 2002 debut EP 'Raza Hoodía' featured the hit "Ocho Kandelikas" which received heavy airplay on MTV Latino. The 2005 album 'Agua Pa' La Gente' featured guests Frank London (The Klezmatics) and Paul Shapiro (Brooklyn Funk Essentials). 2007's 'Viva La Guantanamera' EP hit #9 on iTunes and #1 on eMusic, followed by the Best Of album 'Carne Masada.' After a ten year retirement, Hip Hop Hoodíos resurfaced in 2019 as essentially a solo act led by Josh Norek in collaboration with prominent guests including Pato Machete, Mexican Institute Of Sound, Santi Mostaffa and Hip Spanic Allstars. Hip Hop Hoodíos' music has been featured in television shows, movies and video games. Most recently the song "Times Square 1989" was included in 'Only Murders In The Building' (Season 4, episode 1), the motocross game 'Riders Republic' and the movie 'Pride & Glory' featuring Colin Farrell and Edward Norton.
