Red Five is an American DJ and producer who combines her love of funky disco and acid tech house to create an unforgettable groovy sound that keeps the dance floor moving all night. With an extensive artistic background and many years of playing the piano under her belt, Red Five has always cherished the ability to express herself through art and music in order to connect with her crowd. Initially attending school to become a Psychologist, Red Five decided she was better able to help people through her true passion - music. Her journey into DJing began with Dance Music Initiative’s educational classes, where she first learned to spin records on vinyl. After almost a year of training on both vinyl and CDJs with DMI, she landed her first opening slot at Youtopia 2017. Within her first couple years of DJing, Red Five had been booked at some of the hottest venues for house music, such as Focus OC, Exchange LA, Space Taco, La Cave, Brussels Bistro, The Boom Boom Room, and Tower 12. She has also been featured on renowned radio stations such as KX 93.5FM, San Diego’s Glow Radio, and Holly’s House on Subliminal Radio. Her sound is refreshing and unique, combining elements from the industrial techno scene with her love of funky disco to create a groovy tech house sound. Each set of hers is a different story, taking listeners on an unforgettable journey that will leave them wanting more.
