Born in 1979, Wimmie Bouma was a Dutch torch singer from Zwolle, in the northeastern Netherlands. His first two singles, "Een Meisje Zoals Jij" ("A Girl like You") and "Alles" ("Everything"), were small local successes. In 2009 he self-released the album De Verleiding ("The Seduction"), along with the singles "Lieve Schat" ("Dear Darling") and "De Ring Die Jij Draagt" ("The Ring That You Wear"). This latter track was embraced by radio and hit number three on the RadioNL Top 1500 when it was re-released in 2012, later becoming the title track of Bouma's second album, released in 2013. Two further singles, "Als Jij Het Niet Meer Weet" ("If You Don't Remember") and "Mijn Kleine Rosa" (My Little Rosa") followed later that year. ~ John D. Buchanan, Rovi
