Producer and artist David M. Williams aka Voodoo Slinky has had a long music career since his beginning Texas punk days as a junior member in Vomit Pigs in the late 70s followed by 80s and 90s punk, post-punk, and indie bands Frenetics, Weder/Noch, Self Is On The Throne, and Beautiful Supermachines. He heard the earliest hip-hop singles and immediately embraced the culture, eventually co-founding Decadent Dub Team and releasing the single 'Six Gun' on a spec deal with Island Records in 1987. Six Gun was remixed by Dr. Dre of N.W.A. . This version- Dr.Dre's .44 Mag Mix - appeared on the Dennis Hopper-directed film Colors soundtrack, for which he earned a gold record. David followed this producing and co-writing tracks for the Jungle Brothers, Dana Bryant, and many others, and editing major-label UK singles for US release. After stints doing in-house production and remixes for various labels, David did numerous tracks and remixes with new music for eMERGENCY heARTS between 2022-2024 under his name and Voodoo Slinky. Upon first hearing as a teen early avant-garde music by Stockhausen, Kagel, Berio, Pierre Henry, etc he began a lifelong appreciation for experimental music and in the last few years, has begun finally composing in that realm after "sneaking" outside bits into various productions for years, as well as minimalist ambient music as Calmer.
