Big Hurt whose real name is Courtney Hurt, is a recording Artist from Durant, Mississippi. His rhyming cadences reflect those of Pimp-C, MJG, among many other artists from the South. He molded his own unique style over the years, from Southern "Trap" music, with a influence of Southern "Delta Blues" and helped create what is known today as "Southern-Soul Rap" Big Hurt first gained notoriety as 1-half of the Delta Based group the "Merc-Boyz" with their 2010 release entitled "One O'clock. Two years later, he released his first mixtape entitled "Back 2 The Game". Big Hurt's first major break in his solo career was in 2015 with his first state-wide hit entitled "Trauma Love" which is also re-released and featured on the 2018 E.P. "No Excuses". His unique style of harmonizing and rhyming melodies made him popular amongst a strong female fanbase & help him with developing music to cater to that particular audience. This became the main focus for his new single entitled "Conversations". Many in the south region of the U.S. have dubbed him as the "Marvin Sease" of Southern-Soul Rap.
