Matty the Amalgamist or, Matthew Castillo, knew Matty fit him better. Everyone called him Matty, and it matched his personality. This personality would soon shape his love for music. Through everything he did music was by his side. Kanye West, Chance the Rapper, Lil Yachty, Trippie Redd, Drake, Wu-Tang Clan, and Wiz Khalifa were early influences, and inspired the sound you hear today. However he never sticks to one sound. As an artist he never wants to be trapped by a genre or label put on him. Songs range from rap, hip hop, rnb, alternative rock, and everything in between. Brought up in Spokane Washington there was a lack of artists to represent his area. That’s where he took his stand. Starting from a humble beginning he could see being a star in his future. Making music in his room from his phone was enough to get it out there into the world. Mixing love stories, life experiences, and a loose and relaxed sound to his music, he creates a relatable listening experience for listeners. Inspired by Outkast sudden popularity by sophomore year, he is dropping more then ever and pushing his dream his sophomore year. And now we are at present day.
