SO SHA is a Norwich-based artist originally from the Philippines. This is a story of a girl finding her worth and self-love despite being hidden as a child by her conservative parents and only reluctantly admitting to her existence to others when she was 19. This catapulted her into constantly searching for ways to be truly seen, finding solace in nightclubs, dark places with bright lights and of course, electronic music. She delivers DJ sets with live vocals, improv, and rollerblade dancing, infusing her own pop trance songs and engaging remixes. Graduating with first honors in Songwriting from the University of East London, SO SHA combines the dramatic, epic, and cinematic elements of trance music with heartfelt storytelling in their pop lyrics and melodies. With a background as a competitive ice skater, award-winning poet, trained theater musical performer, and skilled dancer, SO SHA represents their unique journey through their work, breaking barriers and embracing their heritage. Her eclectic taste & influences range from Jeff Buckley, Griff, Armin van Buuren, Dua Lipa, Incubus, Sara Bareilles and more.
