Eddie "DJ Malakai" Ward, is an American record producer from Houston, TX. He is currently signed to Decibel Records and has been with the label since 2014. DJ Malakai has produced & engineered for many artists internationally and has served at some capacity on several major label releases, most notably the UK’s Joss Stone's "Water For your Soul. 
 DJ Malakai was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He has been musically inclined since his childhood. At age 10, he learned how to play piano, trumpet, and percussion. 
 He attended Prairie View A&M in the early 2000's and studied Music and Communications. He also graduated from Full Sail University in Orlando, FL. While in school he began creating remixes of popular songs and producing beats using Logic Pro and Komplete Control s61.
