Elias Dris made a significant leap in his career at just 20 years old by traveling to California to record his debut album, "Gold In The Ashes" (2017), under the guidance of the father and producer of the singer Alela Diane. This collection of authentic and sensitive folk songs showcased his remarkable vocal prowess and maturity, quickly establishing him as a notable talent in the folk genre. In 2019, Elias collaborated with Morgane Imbeaud on a tribute album to Simon & Garfunkel, further cementing his versatility and respect for folk traditions. A year later, he released his second album, "Beatnik Or Not To Be," an inspired and liberating record that highlighted his evolving artistry and creative freedom. This album led to numerous performance opportunities across France, where he opened for renowned artists such as Lou Doillon, Selah Sue, Suede, and Girls In Hawaï. Elias Dris latest single, "The Void" (released on July 5, 2024), marks a pivotal moment in his career. Departing from traditional studio settings, he composed, arranged, and recorded this track in his own studio, collaborating with Kieron Menzies, the favorite mixer of Lykke Li and Lana Del Rey, and mastering engineer Adam Ayan. His music, characterized by clear melodies and sensitive writing, continues to captivate and innovate, showcasing his unique artistic identity.
