SURFACE GREY is a 26-year old artist, producer, and songwriter by way of Houston, Texas with musical stylings of Hip-Hop, R&B/Soul, Pop, Electronic, and Alternative. Coming from an upbringing in Houston, he credits Houston's culture of Freestyling as the path way to him making music. After realizing he should start writing down the cool stuff he says down when freestyling, he began becoming more fluent with his chops in music. However, it wasn't until 2020 where he felt he had found his sound and enough comfort to start releasing his own music on platforms. Then in 2021, he made waves as a producer, dropping his project, "Perfected Timing," which all songs were based on the concept of time and how we as people can waste time yet also speaks on how valuable time is. He started to make waves with his catchy flows and unique ear for beats in his second project as an artist called, "Overcast," which featured the likes of fellow Houston artist, DAVESTATEOFMIND (Blessings), and St. Louis artist, Young Pink (Z4L, Amphetamine, & SUMMER SALT), and Rizz Cappolatti (Mike Jones featuring Smino). SURFACE GREY has also worked with Chicago Rap legend, Mick Jenkins, on his latest release, “Magnum Opus.” SURFACE GREY is just getting started and is planning to make an impact in the music industry after embarking his first tour ever in May of 2023.
