pai guga ["father guga"] is my solo project; I´m the lead singer and composer of Amplexos band, playing and touring for 18 years in Volta Redonda, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This solo project was created during a very special but hard moment in my life - the recess [2017-18] of my band that coincided with the birth of my first daughter Maria. At that time, living an exclusive experience of fatherhood, I was discouraged because far from the stages and musical creation. So, I started performing exercises to resume my work with composition and made a self challenge of releasing a few songs, with the equipment and the resource I had available, experimenting something with a lo fi language, also inspired by the Brazilian music of the 70s - and a really free and extremely personal writing. Without marketing pretensions but a pop essence that carries my memories of a curious child on the radio, now I´m trying to search for different styles and reinvents song by song, as it always presents in a brilliant way artists like Beck, Curumin , Lucas Santtana and others I really admire. I´ve been releasing some singles on youtube and collaborating with artists from different genres like A.X.L. and Tolen. For now, I'm preparing a full album to be released in 2024, my deepest breath ever.
