Biography

Amadeus is a Senegalese musician whose talent and passion for music began in childhood. Influenced by the songs his mother used to play for him, his love of music has grown steadily over the years. It was upon discovering the genius of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart that he adopted the pseudonym “Amadeus”, and also drew inspiration from great musical figures, whether they be national, like the diva Coumba Gawlo and the maestro Youssou N'Dour, or international, like the prince of American R&B Chris Brown. His career took off with the release of his first solo single “Boulma Sagané”, inspired by a Cheikh Lô song. The track was a runaway success. Building on this momentum, Amadeus continued with “Dara Douko Dakk”, a medley cover of his idol Youssou N'Dour, followed by his first official video “Doumala Fowé”, a hit on the theme of love. In 2023, Amadeus continued his ascent with the single “Saajobaan”, which earned him several Raaya Awards nominations in the categories of Tube of the Year and Artist of the Year. Considered the “King of feats", he has made a string of successful collaborations such as "Yow la " with VJ , "@Tout Donner " with Xiirsa , and more recently “Confuse” with Wally B. Seck and Mia Guisse, for which he is also the author. His growing fame led him to be shortlisted for the RFI Découvertes 2023 award. On September 8th of the same year, he released his first EP “Am-ma may la ”, adding to his growing repertoire ahead of the release of his debut album in 2024.
