In 2007 D.O.E. was featured on the hit "The Way I Are" alongside Keri Hilson from Timbaland Presents Shock Value. In September 2008 D.O.E. released his 5th mixtape "The Fall of John Doe...The Rise of D.O.E" in anticipation of his new studio album that was set to be released in 2009 but due to issues with the label never materialized. On October 9, 2008 D.O.E was featured on an episode of ABC's daytime drama One Life to Live. In 2009 D.O.E. started a new chapter in his life when he moved to L.A. to pursue a career as a songwriter. He wrote several songs on Timbaland’s Shock Value 2 album included the album’s leading single “The Morning After Dark” ft Nelly Furtado and “Say Something” ft Drake. Following the success of Shock Value 2, D.O.E. worked closely with Atlantic records writing for many of their artist including Flo-Rida, Trey Songz and Diggy Simmons whom he wrote the majority of the hooks for his debut album “Unexpected Arrival”. After living on the west coast for some time, D.O.E. left L.A and his songwriting career behind to deal with personal issues at home. Now he's is back from his hiatus with his latest release titled "Friendly Reminder".
