Fixed Error (aka James Orr) is a producer, drummer & film composer hailing from Melbourne, Australia. As Fixed Error, he draws from a mixed bag of genres, including funk, hip hop, dub, rock, EDM, lofi & downtempo. Inspired by some the early heroes of sampling and electronic music of the 90s and 2000s, Fixed Error likes to mix it up. His debut album, 'Makeshift Remedies' (2014), was a genre-bending ride of up-tempo rock, downtempo soul, and everything in between. James has also produced and written for an eclectic range of artists, including Daniel Johns (Silverchair), Astrid Williamson (Goya Dress), . He has had a long-standing collaboration with composer and vocalist, Lisa Gerrard, producing, mixing and co-writing her albums and filmscores since 2007, including the award winning ‘Balibo’ (2009). In his other life, James' film work has ranged from the classical and dramatic, to the ambient and synthetic. He co-wrote the score for 'Burning Man', which won APRA Best Feature Film Score Of The Year in 2011. He was nominated for the same award in 2017 for his score for the Australia/US action film, '2:22'. He has worked alongside directors such as Michael Mann, Gavin O'Connor, Zac Snyder, and film composer luminaries among the likes of Hans Zimmer, Harry Gregson-Williams, Zbigniew Priesner. He also tours internationally playing keyboards with the seminal world music duo Dead Can Dance. He currently works out of Candyland Studios in Melbourne, Australia.
