Biography

Q. Smith - NYC Singer / Actress / Teacher / Writer born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. Television includes ABC'S The Black Box, FBI: Most Wanted, Evil, A Royal Birthday mini-series on BET-J directed by Kim Fields. Concerts: Guest Soloist for Hillary Clinton's Vital Voices Award Ceremony (Kennedy Center), Guest Soloist during Barack Obama's Inaugural ceremonies, Abyssinia: A Gospel Celebration with Wynton Marsalis (Lincoln Center), Showboat (Carnegie Hall), Guest Soloist in Andrew Lloyd Weber's Requiem with the Omaha Symphony, and Smokey Joe's Cafe' starring Gladys Knight. Several concerts in Central America (Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua) with Wanderlust Theatre Co. of NYC. Not only is Q. an entertainer, but a passionate educator. She has been developing a curriculum entitled Rehabilitative and Restorative Art Conditioning which helps children with behavioral problems and learning disabilities retain their curriculum through the arts. Q.'s goals are to build a performing arts school integrated with the juvenile system, open a bed and breakfast in Hawaii, travel the world, continue her concert work and voice-over career, and publish her book Queens of the Theatre.
