Joshua Michaels aka Iz is a dj, music producer, web developer, traveler and coffee lover from Chicago. He has been a dj and producer for 32 years, playing everything from downtempo to techno, with a love for dub reggae, soul, hip-hop, disco and house music. Touring solo as well as with his compadre Diz as Iz & Diz, he has traveled the world with regular gigs in London, Barcelona, Belgium, Australia and across North America. Joshua runs a record label Vizual Records (https://vizualrecords.com) as an outlet for his own music along with being springboard for up-and-coming artists. Established djs and producers have also graced the label including Derrick Carter, Chez Damier, Pépé Bradock, Jay Tripwire, Russ Gabriel and more. Joshua has produced over 500 tracks on some of the most respected dance music labels: Prescription, Balance, Classic, Junior Boys Own, and OM Records, just to name a few. His latest album ‘Versions’ was released in February, 2018 on his Vizual imprint. When not, djing, producing or developing, Joshua likes graphic standards manuals, aged Sumatra coffee, hiking, and tennis. He lives with his wife, Elizabeth Allan, a writer from New Zealand, in Chicago and are expecting a son in the spring of 2019.
