Hailing from Santiago, Dominican Republic, Isaac Hernandez  is a guitarist with a peculiar taste for mellow and harmonically colorful compositions that reveal a wide palette of musical influences. Primarily a self taught musician Inspired to play guitar and keyboard by his childhood friends. He after attended Buenos Aires Argentina’s “Escuela de musica contemporanea” to study jazz and folkloric music with some of Argentinas best like Ernesto Jodos and Marcelo Guttfraind. After graduation, he went back to the beautiful Dominican Republic to stand out as a professional guitarist, composer and arranger and later revealing his most daring proyect the ISAAC HERNANDEZ 5TET, playing Isaac’s original tunes covering contemporary jazz with Afrodominican roots music, resulting in the 1st album release “PERSPECTIVA” (2014), Consisting of 9 tracks of Afrodelic jazz, featuring luminaries from DR’s music scene as saxophonist Jonathan Pina, Pianist Josean Jacobo, Bassist Esar Simo and Drummer/Percussionist Otoniel Nicolas, which led to powerful performances from the band in the DR’s local scene playing festivals and cultural environments as well as local bars and side gigs in NYC SHRINE WORLD MUSIC VENUE, Puerto Rico’s FETE DE LA MUSIQUE, among others.
